My new blog...for the first time

It is a great start and yes, I already started feeling of learning. Well, I have heard about blog often but never used it somehow. So, this is the place where we can create, share and collaborate our information, knowledge and skills.
Although I have had a module during my MA on online learning and I do have few stuff to share with all my friends here, especially this web skills participants about the Web 2.0 tools. Hopefully, I can keep on posting few from next time but as an introductory about web 2.0 tools, it is an interactive tool that are very good for teaching learning purposes. Teacher and student can create, collaborate, and  share knowledge through web 2.0 tools.

More next time….and do keep posting all of you….

  1. Hi,

I would like to learn more about web 2.0 tool, so that I can use it in my classroom. However, I do believe that, although using the web, we create wonderful interactive content for our students, prepare interesting tasks, share resources, it can and should never replace the "Chalk and Talk" method of teaching-learning. People may find me a traditionalist but these are my thoughts.

I feel teaching is at its best, if we are able to bled the two, so that the young learners get the best of both. I wait for the thoughts of all my colleagues.

    1. Thank you so much Paramita for your interest in web 2.0 tools though you and I are a traditional teacher. Yes, it is true that technology cannot replace teacher in a classroom. Therefore, the concept of Blended Classroom has come where the instruction is imparted partly through online or using internet and face-to-face interaction within four walls of classroom.

Blended classroom allows both teacher and student to use online tools, especially referring to interactive websites (Web 2.0 tools) to create and collaborate ideas and form communities of learning even outside the formal classroom.

Well, ideas or notion of blending is not something very new to teachers, somehow good teacher in a classroom have always blended their methods using different strategies and pedagogical skills like using reading, writing, lecture, projects and audio- visual to accompany their teaching- these are all parts of an effective blend. But only with the use of tool especially the computer and the internet in the classroom has flourished the term. Blending is not merely bringing in tools available in the internet and using it in classroom, understanding that using the right tool, in the right situation, for the right purpose should be a guiding principle.

There are huge numbers of fascinating Web 2.0 tools that are creative and refreshing available in the internet, this tools has made possible for teachers to blend their traditional class with completely new ideas to teach and learn language through creative works, on their own space and time and largely through collaboration.
Well, for the interest of general and for all our mates, I will be posting a new blog on one of the web 2.0 tools with detail description and sample lesson plant that can be integrated in a classroom.

Thank you once again and it was nice opportunity for me to share this.
      See you all,
      With regards....
